Description

Nostolepsis is an extinct genus of acanthodian fish that lived from the Late Silurian to the Middle Devonian. The acanthodians were small marine and freshwater fish with numerous fins supported by sharp spines. Their bodies were covered with scales rather than by bony plates and, most importantly, they had jaws.
