Bridge (2021—2025) was an initiative dedicated to translating the work of WVU researchers into actionable insights for policymakers, supporting WVU’s mission as West Virginia’s R1 Land-Grant institution. While the initiative is no longer active, we are proud to share the work that was accomplished. West Virginia University’s Bridge Initiative in Science and Technology Policy, Leadership, and Communications identified challenges and opportunities facing West Virginia and provided a bridge between the science and technology expertise of WVU faculty and staff and West Virginia’s national, state, and local policymakers. It is no longer active. During its tenure, we gathered the views of stakeholders across the state to ensure our recommendations reflected the needs of West Virginians. This work supported WVU’s critical land-grant mission to lead “transformation in West Virginia and the world through local, state and global engagement.”
