Location
Blackwater River. Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge. From Davis, follow Blackwater River Road east to swinging bridge. Cross bridge and hike trail south about 0.6 miles then head east into wetland. Plot CVWR.2 Habitat: Old oxbow with shrub swamp. Soils saturated and with standing water at collection date. Associated species: Alnus incana ssp. rugosa, Viburnum recognitum, Aronia melanocarpa, Vaccinium myrtilloides, Calamagrostis canadensis, and Carex stipata.
