Abstract

Increases in communication competence and willingness to communicate and decreases in communication apprehension are frequent goals of general education oral communication courses. The present investigation examined the relationship between Kolb’s learning styles and student changes in communication competence, willingness to communicate, and communication apprehension while enrolled in a basic oral communication course. Results suggest modest relationships between some of Kolb’s learning modes and styles and the communication outcomes.
