Abstract
Computers play an important role in our everyday lives. Rural areas are being left behind the digital divide due to the lack of money, infrastructure, and educational resources. The current study will explore the role of fear among individuals who do not utilize computer technology. It will try to better understand the psyche of individuals in rural communities and their opinions about computers. This research will also try to provide solutions on how to narrow the digital divide in rural areas such as McDowell County, West Virginia. This research included an in-depth interview along with a survey regarding computer use among individuals in this region of West Virginia.
