Abstract
The following thesis is a memoir excerpt, focusing on the narrator’s five-year search for a diagnosis when a mysterious seizure disorder plagues her adolescence and early adulthood. Beginning when the narrator is sixteen, the project explores the lasting effects of psychopathology on a developing identity and mind. The vignette form aims to curate fragments of experience that refract one another emotionally and thematically.
