Abstract
This collection of free verse poems explores desire, intimacy, and tenderness; loneliness, emptiness, and the anticipation of grief; and writing and artmaking. The poems draw from real and imagined landscapes, memories, and dreams, and are sequenced loosely along a chronological narrative. In addition to text-only free verse poems, this collection also includes a sequence of visual photo-poems, as well as several pages of photographs. Balancing intertwining stories of a new relationship and a father’s terminal diagnosis, these poems understand attention as an act of love.
