Abstract
This collection of poems embodies an experience across space and time, centering on family, love, culture and migration. The critical preface details the author’s journeying into the writing space and the writers who surround and inform their craft, and the geo-cultural landscapes the work navigates. This work traces afro-diasporic lineage across four sections: Invoke, Embody, Rehearse and Return. Most of the poems are written in free verse and adopt elements of traditional Yorúbá lyrics and oral traditions.
