Abstract

Approved clinical instructors (ACI) and athletic training students (ATS) were observed in the clinical learning environment over six observation sessions to correlate frequency/duration of observed behaviors with perceived behaviors and analyze clinical instruction behavior frequency/duration trends. The Clinical Instruction Analysis Tool-Athletic Training II and BEST software was utilized. Skill Feedback: Evaluative and Skill Feedback: Descriptive indicated strong ACI correlations. Screening and Evaluative Technique: Manipulation and Documentation indicated strong ATS correlations. Frequency and duration R2 values were not higher than 0.39. Individuals within the clinical learning environment are unaware of the behaviors they exhibit, as there was a low degree of relationship between time and behavior.
