Abstract
This creative nonfiction essay collection explores the notions of humility in the face of ambition, human fallibility, redemption, and the importance of meaningful work. Research-based works partner personal essays in these explorations, with several reoccurring subjects including Apartheid South Africa, travel, and sport. There is an overarching attempt to understand the viability of the idea that humanity is interconnected, and how that dynamic figures in a world of individualistic pursuits.
