Abstract
"No Ash Will Burn" consists of eleven fictional short stories, ranging from two to sixty-five pages in length. Written in a mostly realist fashion, the stories explore characters' relationships with the natural world through work, recreation, and heritage. Several of the stories deal with issues of familial responsibility, and many point to the disconnect between urban and rural Americans in the 21st Century.
