Abstract
Love That Will Not Let You Go is a collection of poems that are chiefly concerned with longing and love; familial, romantic, divine, and self, and the expectations we put on love as an ideal to save and to protect. This exploration of love takes as many shapes on the page as the ways we look for love, and love may often be a stand in for the speaker's desire for becoming comfortable with herself and finding a place in the world. The title, a modified line from a hymn, illustrates the simultaneous comfort and constraint inherent in love. The collection, too, is riddled with binaries: magical and practical, wilderness and domesticity, being loved and marriage, holding on and letting go.
