Abstract
With Signs Following is a collection of stories that deals with how people fail and succeed at connecting with each other, about the inherent oddness of living in the modern world, about how place has a profound impact upon our actions and desires. Characters in this collection learn through journeying, through their interactions with animals, through their histories and secret passions. Some are self-destructive, some are misanthropic, while others are merely adrift. Coincidence, exploration, and the machinations of contemporary life bring them together and drive them apart. In short, they live the same sorts of lives we all do.
