Abstract
This collection of poems is an exploration of the relationship between narrative and theory, focusing especially on what this relationship might contribute to poetry's examination of the body and sexuality. Many of the poems are experiments in tone and form, connected by recurring images, characters, and thematic concerns. Both the critical preface and the poems that follow it try to redefine the roles of tradition, history, and sexuality---particularly homosexuality---in contemporary poetry.
