Abstract
Rush Dew Holt was born on June 19, 1905 at West, West Virginia. A precocious child, he was raised in an unusual family. He was a vocal oppoent of the American Entry in the first and Second World Wars. Holt prided himself for his political independence and his ability to avoid compromising his principles for political expediency.
