Abstract

The problem of this research was to determine the effect of six independent individual difference variables (cognitive control, learning style, achievement motivation, locus of control, learning environment, and cognitive task) on the dependent variable of learning performance. Post facto research was conducted that resulted in significant findings for two of the twelve research hypotheses postulated. Specifically, the mean performance score of field independent students was found to be significantly higher than that of field dependent students and the mean performance score of the web-based learning environment condition was found to be significantly higher than that of the traditional learning environment condition.
