Abstract

The study of coal inorganics has been and continues to be of great academic and industrial importance. This study identifies, quantifies, and establishes the variabilities and interrelationships of the principal mineral and elemental inorganic constituents in the Pittsburgh coal within one mine and between two areas of the Pittsburgh coal basin.Stratigraphic variations and trends was well as the paleoenvironmental control over these variations in coal inorganics are pointed out.
