Abstract
The intent of this naturalistic inquiry was to provide information about Appalachian women and the community college. The qualitative interview was used to investigate the students perception about their community college experience. The interview yielded data related to the students motivations for attending and persisting in higher education. The desire for change is the underlying motive for the women to attend the community college.
