Abstract
This research was undertaken in order to investigate the ultimate strength of rectangular concrete members under pur torsion. The area of investigation covered plain, prestressed, reinforced and prestressed beams with mild steel reinforcement. A brief review of pertinent theoretical and experimental results was undertaken in order to assess the present state of knowledge.
