Abstract
This study was designed to investigate achievement with a Modified SQ3R Method and th Cornell Method as textbook reading-study techniques for a college freshman content area course, considering the effect of locus of control. Both overall effectiveness of the two methods and the effect of locus of control on achievement with the methods were considered.
