Abstract

This study focused on my personal experiences enhanced by the experiences of the participants as they exist within their programs of math education at West Virginia University. This research, a phenomenological study based on existential hermeneutical methodology offers a lens from which to view authentic learning explored through the theoretical framework of Paulo Freire, Parker Palmer, and the INTASC principles. I interviewed three preservice secondary math teachers with depth. Following, I used an interpretive framework to analyze the data.
