Abstract
It would appear that if instructors of undergraduate music appreciation courses are to assist their students in understanding and responding favorably to various styles of music, methods must be developed which alleviate the initial negative attitudes undergraduates demonstrate toward certain styles of music. A teaching methodology which has enjoyed considerable success in modifying attitudes OQ is counter attitudinal role-playing.
