Abstract
The purpose of this study is to describe an on-going remedial reading program, the Lancaster, Ohio, program, and to evaluate its long-term effects upon the students' progress in (1) reading and (2) in the subject matter fields. The ability to read well usually is considered to be one of the most important skills a person acquires during his formal academic training.
